“….The Steps of a Good Man are ordered by the Lord..”

If we allow God to Order Our Steps then He is in Control.

God always give the best to those that leave the choice up to him.

Peace is proportional to the Amount of Control you Give God

Nobody would ever exchange "peace like a river" for "chaos like a storm

"God is not a God of disorder, but of peace." (1 Cor. 14:33) .

"I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river." (Isaiah 48:17,18) … the steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord …

Heb 12:1 “…Lay Aside every weight and sin that doth so easily beset us “

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,New American Standard Bible Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,King James BibleWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Psalm 55:2 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved

New International Version Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.New American Standard Bible Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shake.

God cannot bless or give peace in any area of your life that you have not given him control over. When we truly give to God our cares, our burdens, our futures, he then has control as we follow his leading. Before Jacob was changed into Israel he had to empty himself out at the River Jabook (which means to empty out). Once he emptied himself of his ambition and his dreams and his ideas God could then change him and use him.

Notice that the bible says to pursue PEACE, that peace does not naturally come to you. Peace like a river implies that when the Spirit is flowing through us, we have a true sense of calmness, because we know his flow is working through and in us .

To have true biblical peace that the Word of God promises , a person must join themselves to the Lord. Without God, we can do nothing, but with God all things are possible. It is possible to have peace with our past, peace with our present and peace with our future. When we have peace with our past we know that our mistakes are covered by the blood of the Lamb, when we have peace with our present, we know that God is with us and when we have peace with our future, we know that God has us in his divine plan in the works for our lives

PHIL 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

Peace of mind is something that we all need from God. We desire to be able to rest, to not have to worry, and not be burdened down with cares of this world

The best place to start is with the Lord and knowing the WORD . When the Word is engrafted and implanted in our heart and spirit it gives us confidence in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

Philippians 4:6-9.

1. God wants you to have true peace by having you not worry--about anything (act of thinking)

2. Worry implies you are not trusting in God.

3. Do not be anxious about anything." That means don't worry. The word for "anxious" in the greek here means to be troubled with cares of this world

4 With the Spirit you are able to trust God beyond your ability to know what will happen in your life

Matt 6 , 27, 31-34: 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 31 So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

2. 1 Peter 5:7: "Cast all your anxiety (same word) on him because he cares for you." (NIV)

3. John 14:1: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." (NIV)

4. God wants you to have true peace by praying--about everything (act of doing)

5. The peace that God gives you will guard your minds.

6. The peace that God gives you will strengthen you.

7. Because of the cross, you have access to the throne of GRACE

8. In the presence of God there is peace. Romans 15:13: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

9. Psalm 16:11: "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

10.In prayer you are transformed.

11. By praying you will want to think about Godly things.

12. God wants you to have true peace by meditating on his WORD Joshua 1:8

Psalm 119:78: " . . . I will meditate on your precepts."

There is no peace," says the Lord, "for the wicked." (Isaiah 48:22)

Horatio Spafford was a man who nearly 150 years ago came to know firsthand a little something about that river of God's peace. His four daughters were on a ship that was crossing the Atlantic when it collided with another sea vessel. All four of his daughters were killed, and only his wife survived. As Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, his ship passed near where his daughters had died. It was there that he penned the words to the well-known hymn, "It is Well with My Soul."
